achieved for engine output and engine tor‐
que may deviate from the certified values
within the country-specific guidelines for
permissible tolerances (basis: UN-ECE No.
85 or country-specific guidelines).
Factors that can influence this are, for exam‐

Outside temperature
R
Operating temperature of the engine

tion. The values for engine output and
engine torque shown in the media display
may deviate from the actual values.
G-Mode
G-ModeO is an additional drive program for
off-road journeys and is not suitable for use on
firm road surfaces. O is automatically activa‐
ted, if one of the following conditions is met:
R
You shift the transfer case to the LOW
RANGE off-road gear(/ page 142).
R
You engage at least one differential lock
(/ page 144).
The display message O appears in the instru‐
ment cluster.
O is automatically deactivated again, if the
following conditions are met:
R
You shift the transfer case to the on-road
position HIGH RANGE.
R
You disengage all differential locks.
Not all driving and driving safety systems are
available in O under certain circumstances.
Observe the system limits of the transfer case
(/ page 141) and the differential locks
(/ page 143).
It is not possible to change the drive program
with the DYNAMIC SELECT switch in O. The
DYNAMIC SELECT switch only works again when
O has been deactivated.

If the engine speed is higher than the idle
speed and you engage the transmission posi‐
tion h or k, the vehicle may accelerate
sharply.

If you engage the transmission position
h or k when the vehicle is at a
standstill, always depress the brake
pedal firmly and do not accelerate at
the same time.
