Driving
Problems while driving
The engine runs erratically and misfires
ì•« An ignition cable may be damaged.
ì•« The engine electronics may not be op-
erating properly.
ì•« Unburned gasoline may have entered
the catalytic converter and damaged it.
왘 Give very little gas.
왘 Have the problem repaired by an au-
thorized Mercedes-Benz Center as
soon as possible.

If anything blocks the windshield wiper
(leaves, snow, etc.), switch them off im-
mediately.
ì•« For safety reasons,
ì•« turn off the engine by turning
the SmartKey to position 0 and
withdraw the SmartKey from
the starter switch
or
ì•« turn off the engine by pressing
the KEYLESS-GO* start/stop
button and open the driver’s
door (with the driver’s door
open, the starter switch is in po-
sition 0, same as with the
SmartKey removed from the
starter switch)
before attempting to remove any
blockage.
ì•« Remove blockage.
ì•« Turn the windshield wipers on
again.
If windshield wipers fail to function at
all in switch position I,
ì•« set the combination switch to the
next highest wiper speed
ì•« have the windshield wipers
checked at the nearest authorized
