Advanced System Information
The Total Command system can be engaged any time the engines are keyed on. Once engaged, pressing
the system activation switch at any time will immediately deactivate the system. The system will also
become inactive if it is idle for more than 15 minutes.
Total Command Activation Requirements
In order for the total command joystick to function:
Both engines must be running
The ERC levers must be in the neutral/idle positions
The Total Command System must be activated
Both thrusters must have the capacity to operate, with the yellow capacity indicator not fully lit.
The Total Command system must be free of faults, with the red fault indicator off.
The rudders should also be in the straight ahead position, but this will not prohibit the system from
operating.
Reading the Indicators
There are three indicators on the Total Command switch pad. The indicator lights are system activation
(green), capacity (yellow), and fault (red).
Status Indicator
The green status indicator light, located on the system activation switch, is on whenever the Total
Command system is active and functional, and will flash if the system is active but the joystick becomes
disabled.
