Capacity Indicator
The yellow capacity indicator light displays the remaining capacity of the thrusters, based on the battery
voltage and thruster temperature for both thrusters. The capacity indicator lights for a brief period as the
system does a self check upon starting, then is normally off. The light starts to flash when the either the
battery capacity is gettin glow or the thruster is getting hot enough that continued use will cause it to cause
the system to protect itself. It will become lit solid if, for either thruster, the respective battery capacity falls
too low for operation, or the thruster has reached a temperature that might cause damage with continued
use.

Capacity Indicator
Capacity Indicator Status
Off
The thrusters are ready, the battery capacity is above the low battery limit, and the thrusters
are below the thermal shut‑off limit
Flashing
System capacity is reduced to a warning level and the user should take caution that the
joystick may soon be disabled if capacity becomes fully depleted, or the motor is getting hot
Solid
Capacity has been exhausted for one, or both, thrusters and the joystick is disabled until
capacity can be restored
The best way to restore capacity is to rest the Total Command system with the engines running, allowing
time for the thrusters to cool and the batteries to recharge.
Fault Indicator
The red fault indicator light will be on if there is a problem in the system that will not allow the joystick to
operate. A horn will also sound three times in six seconds if a fault occurs. Any fault will disable the joystick,
but one or both thrusters may still be functional via the Total Command switchpad. If a fault occurs, reset
the system by pressing the activation button or turning the engine keys off and on. If the fault persists,
contact your Mercury MerCruiser or Cummins MerCruiser Diesel dealer or distributor.
