PowerImmobilisationisdesignedtosafeguardthevehicle
fromtheft.Thepowerimmobilisationsystemcanonlybe
deactivatedtostartthecarbyusingthematchedkey.
PresstheST ART/STOPSwitch,onceavalidkeyisdetected
inthevehicle,immobilisationsystemwillbedeactivated
automatically.
Ifthemessagecentredisplays"SmartKeyNotDetected"or
"PutKeyIntoBack-upPosition"orthepowerimmobiliser
systemwarninglampilluminates,pleaseputthesmart
keyintoback-upposition(referto"AlternativeStarting
Procedure"in"StartingandStoppingthePowerSystem"
section),ortrytousethesparekey.Ifthecarcanstillnot
bestarted,pleasecontactanMGAuthorisedRepairer.

LockingandUnlocking
Whenthevehicleislocked,theindicatorlampswillash
threetimesasconrmation;whenitisunlocked,the
indicatorlampswillashonce.
OperationofDoorLockSystem(Key)
KeyLocking
•Usingtheremotekeytolock:pressthelockbuttonon
thekeytolockthecarafterclosingthedoors,bonnet
andtailgate.
•Usingthemechanicalkeytolock:partiallyoperate
thedoorreleasehandle,usingasuitableatblade
tool,insertthetoolintotheundersideofthetrimand
carefullyremovethedoorlocktrimcover,insertthe
keyintothedriverdoorlockandturncounterclockwise
tolockthecar.
KeyUnlocking
•Usingtheremotekeytounlock:presstheunlock
buttononthekeytounlockthecar.
