Problem solving guide
With the help of the following notes, minor faults in the performance of the machine, some
of which may result from incorrect operation, can be put right without contacting the Miele
Professional Service Department. This will save you time and money because you won't
need to book a service technician.
The following guide may help you to find the reason for a fault, and to correct it. Please
note:
Repair work to electrical appliances must only be carried out by a suitably qualified
person in strict accordance with current local and national safety regulations.
Unauthorised or incorrect repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be
dangerous.
The programme does not start
Problem Possible cause and remedy
The display remains dark
and the Start/Stop sensor
does not light up or flash.
There is no power to the machine.
Check whether the washing machine is switched on.
Check whether the washing machine is connected to the
electricity supply.
Check whether the circuit breaker has tripped.
The washing machine has switched off automatically to
save energy.
Switch it back on with the button.
A fault message appears
in the display.
A programme cannot be started while there is a fault
message in the display.
Note the information in the display.
Press the multifunction selector to confirm the message.
The fault message is deleted.
The display is dark and the
Start button indicator light
flashes slowly.
The display has switched off automatically to save energy
(Standby mode).
Press a button. Standby will finish.
