RECORDING
TV
PROGRAMMES
Load
a
cassette
with
the
erasure
prevention
tab
intact.
Turn
ON
the
TV
and
set
it
to
the
Video
Channel.
Press
the
CHANNEL
buttons
to
select
the
desired
channel.

When
the
channel
80-99
is
selected,
the
colour
system
will
be
automatically
set
to
MESECAM.

Press
the
TAPE
SPEED
button
to
select
the
desired
tape
speed
SP
or
LP.
Press
the
REC
button
to
start
recording.

Attempting
to
record
on
a
cassette
that
has
had
its
erasure
prevention
tab
removed
will
result
in
the
cassette
status
indicator
(OO)
flashes
for
approximately
4
seconds
when
the
REC
button
is
pressed
(see
HINTS
ON
CASSETTE
TAPES
on
page
15).
[
Press
the
PAUSE
button
to
cut
commercials
or
other
material
out
of
the
recording.
Press
the
button
again
to
resume
the
recording.
Press
the
STOP
button
to
stop
the
recording.

Press
the
REW
button
to
rewind
the
tape.
The
tape
automatically
rewinds
when
it
reaches
the
end
(automatic
rewind
mechanism).
NOTE:
e
Toprotecta
tape,
afterabout5
minutes
in
the
recording
pause
mode
the
recording
will
stop.
RECEPTION
SIGNAL
External
Audio
and
Video
sources
can
be
utilised
by
this
VCR.
Connections
to
this
VCR
can
be
made
at
the
front
or
rear.
To
use
external
sources
the
VCR
requires
the
correct
selection
of
the
extemal
channel.
To
select
an
external
channel,
press
the
CHANNEL
buttons
until
L1
or
L2
is
displayed
on
the
fluorescent
display.
L1
switches
on
the
sockets
on
the
rear
of
the
VCR,
while
L2
indicates
sockets
on
the
front.
The
table
below
shows
the
various
conditions
applicable
to
external
channels.

When
the
TAPE
SPEED
button

pressed,

tape
speeds
will
be
switched
on
in
the
order
of
SP->LP->SP....
The
tape
speed
can
also
be
selected
by
using
the
VCR
MENU.

picture
during
recording,
switch
the
TV
to
the
Video
Channel.
TWIN
INTELLIGENT
PICTURE
CONTROL
If
the
INTELLIGENT
PICTURE
switch
is
set
to
ON
during
recording,
the
VCR
automatically
samples
the
quality
of
the
tape
and
enhances
picture
sharpness
and
resolution
with
high
grade
tapes.
When
a
cassetie
is
loaded
into
the
VCR,
the
first
recording
will
be
used
by
the
VCR
to
detect
the
tape
grade.
Intelligent
picture
control
can
also
be
used
in
playback
of
tapes.
This
is
further
explained
in
the
playback
section
(page
20).
e
Since
it
only
takes
approximately
1-2
seconds
to
distinguish
the
grade
of
each
tape
once
it
is
loaded
and
the
VCR
is
put
into
record
mode,
intelligent
picture
control
can
be
switched
ON
all
the
time.
e
Intelligent
picture
control
may
not
work
correctly
if
there
is
no
video
signal
present
at
the
start
of
the
first
recording.
