INSTALLING THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE
CONTROL UNIT
Remove the packaging and take out the remote control unit
and the two size “R6” batteries.
Slide the cover of the battery compartment in the direction of
the arrow and remove.
Load the two batteries as shown above and replace the cover.
Make
sure
that
the
polarities,
+
and
—,
are
properly
aligned.
CAUTION:
e Donot mix old and new batteries.
e
Donotheat,
disassemble,
short
or
throw
batteries
into
a
fire.
VCR OPERATION
Remote control sensor
THIS
VCR
CAN
BE
OPERATED
WITH
THE
REMOTE
CON-
TROL
UNIT
PROVIDED.
Set the REMOTE switch to VCR A.
To operate, ensure that the transmission window on the
remote
control
unit
is
pointed
towards
the
remote
control
sensor on the VCR.
Press the desired function button.
The
VCR
can
be
operated
with
the
remote
control
unit
up
to
a distance
of
7
metres.
HI When you have two Mitsubishi VCRs
Set the REMOTE switch on your new VCR to VCR B.
To
operate
your
new
VCR,
press
the
DATA
ON
SCREEN
button
and
VOLUME
V
button
at
the
same
time.
To operate another VCR, press the DATA ON SCREEN
button and VOLUME A button at the same time.
USING THE JOG DIAL AND THE SHUTTLE RING
The JOG/SHUTTLE dial, located on the remote contro! unit, has
two parts; the JOG dial and, outside of it, the SHUTTLE ring.
The JOG dial will turn a full 360° without breaking. The recessed
finger hole in the dial makes turning easier and gives more
sensitive control.
The SHUTTLE ring will turn left or right a maximum of 80°. Once
the SHUTTLE ring is turned and then released, it will then spring
back to the cenire position.
The JOG dial and the SHUTTLE ring control all on-screen
operations as well as extra fine tape transport, from frame
advance right through to speed picture search. The JOG dialalso
works for selecting channels.
Operation of the JOG dial and the SHUTTLE ring is achieved by
first pressing the ‘JOG/SHUTTLE button’ (or the MENU button)
on the remote control unit so that the JOG/SHUTTLE indicator
lights up. To switch the JOG/SHUTTLE off, press the JOG/
SHUTTLE button so that the JOG/SHUTTLE indicator extin-
guishes.
Clockwise rotation of the JOG dial (JOG +) can be used for single
frame advance or to select the next item on the on-screen menu
or
to
select
larger
number
channels.
Anti-clockwise
rotation
(JOG ~) can be used for single frame retreat or to select the
previous item on the on-screen menu or to select smaller number
channels.

To
save
the
battery
power,
the
JOG/SHUTTLE
indicator
will
turn
off automatically
if you
don’t
operate
the
JOG
dial
or
the
SHUTTLE
ring
within
1minute
after
turning
it
on.
If
you
still
wish
to
use
the
JOG
dial
orthe
SHUTTLE
ring,
press
the
JOG/
SHUTTLE
button
to
turn
on
the
indicator
again.
