AUDIO
DUBBING
This
VCR
ailows
you
to
replace
an
existing
normal
sound
track
with
a
soundtrack
of
your
choice.
This
new
soundtrack
is
inputted
from
an
external
source
i.e.
another
VCR
or
microphone.
This
new
soundtrack
is
mono
only.

Connect
this
VCR
and
additional
equipment
as
shown
by
the
diagram
above.
Load
a
cassette
with
the
erasure
prevention
tab
intact.
Press
the
CHANNEL
buttons
to
select
an
external
source
[L2].

Press
the
MIX
button
to
ON.
(The
MIX
indicator
will
illuminate.)
Press
the
PLAY
button
and
locate
where
the
audio
dubbing
is
to
begin
by
using
the
SHUTTLE
ring
and
JOG
dial
to
find
the
precise
location.

When
in
still
mode,
press
the
AUDIO
DUB
button
to
engage
the
audio
dub
pause
mode.
(The
AUDIO
DUB
indicator
will
illuminate.)
Simultaneously
start
the
external
sound
source
and
press
the
PAUSE
button.

Press
the
AUDIO
DUB
button
to
release
audio
dubbing
function.

Playing
back
an
audio
dubbed
tape.
You
can
listen
to
the
audio
dub
sound
track
and
the
original
soundtrack
by
using
the
MIX
button
on
your
VCR.
To
hear
the
two
sound
tracks
at
the
same
time.
Press
the
MIX
button
to
ON.
The
audio
monitor
automatically
switches
to
STEREO.
(The
MIX
indicator
will
illuminate
and
the
L
and
R
indicators
will
illuminate.)
To
hear
the
new
sound
track
only.
Press
the
MIX
button
to
OFF.
(The
MIX
indicator
will
turn
off.)
Press
the
MONITOR
button
to
NORMAL.
(The
L
and
R
indicators
will
turn
off.)
To
hear
the
original
sound
track
only.
Press
the
MIX
button
to
OFF.
(The
MIX
indicator
will
turn
off.)
Press
the
MONITOR
button
to
STEREO.
(The
L
and
R
indicators
will
illuminate.)

NOTE:
When
engaged
in
the
audio
dub
pause
mode,
the
audio
monitor
is
automatically
switched
to
the
normal
sound
track.
MIX
button
must
be
set
to
OFF
for
normal
operation,
other-
wise
the
sound
may
be
somewhat
muffled.
When
the
MIX
button
is
set
to
ON,
the
audio
monitor
cannot
be
switched
to
the
other
positions
from
STEREO.
Audio
dubbing
is
not
possible
using
a
cassette
whose
erasure
prevention
tab
is
broken
off.
When
using
a
microphone,
if
a
high-pitched
sound
is
heard
from
the
TV
set,
either
turn
down
the
TV
volume
or
place
the
microphone
away
from
the
TV
set.
When
both
the
microphone
and
audio
input
terminals
are
connected,
audio
dubbing
is
only
done
with
the
microphone
signal.
Always
remove
the
microphone
when
not
in
use.
The
sections
where
audio
dubbing
has
been
done
will
have
somewhat
reduced
quality.
Audio
dubbing
erases
any
pre-existing
recording
on
the
normal
sound
track,
but
leaves
the
Hi-Fi
track
intact.
The
low
impedance
is
suitable
for
audio
dubbing.
If
you
use
high
impedance
microphone,
the
high
frequency
may
be
inferior.
