16 Using the phone
3.7 Mute
Mute the microphone so that you can talk to someone else in the room without your caller
hearing you.
1. During a call, press m. The microphone is muted.
2. Press m again to turn the microphone back on.
3.8 End a call
1. Press e.
NOTE
If auto hang-up is on (see page 28) simply replace the handset on the base to end the call.

3.9 Intercom
This feature is only available when there are at least 2 registered handsets. It allows you
to make internal calls, transfer external calls from one handset to another and use the
conference option.
3.9.1 Call another handset
1. Press and hold *.
• If only two handsets are registered to the base, the other handset is called
automatically.
• If more than two handsets are registered to the base, the handsets are listed. Scroll
d to the handset you want to intercom and press
OK
.
2. Press e to hang up.
NOTE
If the handset does not belong to IT.6XC range, this function may not be available.
3.9.2 Transfer an external call to another handset
1. During an external call, press and hold *.
Your caller is put on hold.
• If only two handsets are registered to the base, the other handset is called
automatically.
• If more than two handsets are registered to the base, the handsets are listed. Scroll
d to the handset you want to transfer the call to and press
OK
.
If the other handset does not answer, press
Clear
to talk to your caller again.
2. Once the other handset answers, press e on the original handset to transfer the call.
3.9.3 Three-party conference call
1. During an external call, press and hold *.
Your caller is put on hold.
• If only two handsets are registered to the base, the other handset is called
automatically.
