High ISO Noise Reduction
High ISO Noise Reduction
Movies and photographs taken at high ISO sensitivities can be processed to reduce noise.
CSHOOTING MENU> High ISO NR
Select High ISO NR.
Press G to display the menus,
then highlight High ISO NR in the
shooting menu and press 2.

tions and press J.

Reduce noise (randomly-spaced bright pixels, lines, or fog), particularly in movies and photos recorded at high ISO sensitivi-
ties. Choose the amount of noise reduction performed from High, Normal, and Low.

Noise reduction is performed only at sensitivities at or above 1600 (D800/D800E) or 3200 (D4). The amount of noise reduc-
tion is less than the amount performed when Low is selected for High ISO NR.
Noise Reduction
High ISO noise reduction reduces the randomly-spaced bright pixels, fog, and lines characteristic of
high-sensitivity noise, but may leave edges less sharp. You may fi nd that Off or Low off ers a good
balance between sharpness and noise even at high ISO sensitivities.
