n Technique for Portrait mode
To make this mode more effective:

Rotate the zoom lever to Tele as far as possible.
2 Move close to the subject to make this
mode more effective.
This mode is suitable for outdoors in the daytime.
• The ISO sensitivity is fixed to [ISO100].
The camera detects the face or skin area to
achieve a smoother appearance of the skin
than portrait mode. Use this mode when
taking portraits from the chest up.
n Technique for Soft skin mode
To make this mode more effective:

Rotate the zoom lever to Tele as far as possible.
2 Move close to the subject to make this
mode more effective.
This mode is suitable for outdoors in the daytime.
• If there are other flesh-colored elements
in the shot, they will also be softened.
• The effect may not be as obvious if there
isn’t enough light.
• The ISO sensitivity is fixed to [ISO100].
This mode allows you to take a picture of a
wide landscape. The camera focuses on a
distant subject preferentially.
• Slide the focus switch to [AF].
• The focus range is 5 m (16.4 feet) to Z.
The Flash setting is fixed to Forced OFF [
v
].
The setting on the AF assist lamp is disabled.
This mode allows you to take pictures of a
fast moving subject. (e.g. When taking
pictures of outdoor sports.)
n Technique for Sports mode
This mode is more effective when taking
pictures in the daytime on a clear day.
• Slide the focus switch to [AF].
• This mode is suitable for outdoors in the
daytime, keeping 5 m (16.4 feet) or more
away from the subject.
• The [ ] function allows you to
automatically increase the ISO sensitivity
for preventing jitter when taking pictures
of a fast moving subject indoors.
• The ISO sensitivity is fixed to [ ].
• The auto bracket setting is disabled.
• The digital zoom is fixed to [OFF].
