System bleed
Refill the circuit through the expansion tank up to
the maximum level.
- Connect a rubber tube to the bleeding fitting on
the big end and insert it in the opening of the ex-
pansion tank.
- Loosen the coupling and restore the oil level in
the tank, if necessary.
- Start the engine and wait until only coolant comes
out from the tube, then tighten the coupling on the
big end.
- Stop the engine, restore to the maximum fluid
level, then close the expansion tank.
- Heat the engine to the normal operating temper-
ature so as to remove all air pockets from the main
pipes.
- Stop the engine and let it cool down, then check
that the coolant level in the expansion tank is at
the maximum level; top-up if necessary.
