MAINTENANCE
Cooling System
Radiator Coolant Level
Always check and clean the screen and radiator fins at the intervals out-
lined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 48. Do not
obstruct or deflect air flow through the radiator by installing unautho-
rized accessories in front of the radiator or behind the cooling fan. Inter-
ference with the radiator air flow can lead to overheating and
consequentially, engine damage.
1. Lift the hood.
CAUTION! Escaping steam can cause burns. Never remove the pressure cap
while the engine is warm or hot. Always allow the engine to cool before
removing the pressure cap.
2. Slowly remove the radiator cap.
3. View the coolant level through the opening.
4. Use a funnel and slowly add coolant as needed.
Tip: This procedure is required only if the cooling system has been drained for
maintenance and/or repair. But if the overflow bottle has run dry, the level in
the radiator should also be inspected.
5. Reinstall the pressure cap. Use of a non-standard pressure cap will
not allow the recovery system to function properly. See your dealer
for the correct replacement part.
