STEERING RACK REMOVAL /
INSTALLATION (EPS)
REMOVAL
1. Remove the skid plate and open the hood to access
steering rack fasteners.
NOTICE
Lifting the vehicle and removing the front wheels will
assist in removal and installation, but does not require
removal to perform the procedure.
2. Remove the pinch bolt

to the steering rack assembly

3. Remove the cotter pin from both tie rod ends.
4. Remove the fasteners

, and nuts

retaining the both tie rod ends to the steering knuckle.
IMPORTANT
Pay close attention to the location of the washers to
ensure they are installed in the correct location during
assembly.
5. Remove the fasteners

, washers, and nuts
attaching the steering rack to the chassis.
6. Gently pry between the steering shaft and steering
rack while lowering the steering rack and remove
from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Lay the old and new steering racks next to each other
on a clean surface. Measure the old steering rack
length from tie rod end to tie rod end. Turn the tie rod
ends in or out to adjust the new steering rack to this
measurement.
