FUEL SYSTEM/CARBURETION
Cable Adjustment
Throttle Cable - SLX / Pro 1200
Minor adjustments to throttle cable freeplay can be per
formed at the throttle cable adjuster screw on the han
dlebar.
1. Loosen lock nut.
2. Turn adjuster screw in (to increase) or out (to
decrease throttle cable freeplay until adjusted to
specification.
Major adjustments must be performed at the carburetor
end of the throttle cable.
1. Loosen nuts and adjust throttle cable until lever
freeplay is within specified range.
2. Tighten nuts securely and recheck adjustment.
Cable Adjustment - Virage TX / Genesis / FFI
1. Set idle speed to specifications,
adjustment, page 2.17.

2. Measure throttle lever freeplay between the lever block
and lever as shown in III. 1.
3. To adjust, loosen lock on cable. Turn adjuster in
(clockwise) to increase or out (counterclockwise to
decrease free play. Tighten lock when adjustment is
complete.
Choke Cable - SLX / PRO 1200
Choke cable adjustments are made by turning the cable
lock nuts at the carburetor. The choke knob should just
touch the bottom of its travel when the choke plates are
open completely (vertical).
Choke Cable Adjustment - Virage TX / Genesis / FFI1
1. Adjust choke cable by loosening lock nut on cable.
Turning the adjuster in (clockwise) increases choke
lever freeplay. Turning the adjuster out
(counterclockwise) decreases choke lever freeplay.
2. Tighten lock nut securely when adjustment is complete.
