Turn
off
fuel
valve
if
applicable.

.
Remove
seat.
Apply
masking
tape
or
duct
tape
around
seat
opening
to
protect
hull
from
scratches
during
engine
lifting
procedures.

Removal

Loosen
bolts
and
remove
air
intake
silencer
assembly.

.
Remove
spark
plug
high
tension
leads
from
spark
plugs.
5
.
Remove
straps
securing
exhaust
water
box.
6
.
Disconnect
stator
wires
from
connector,
and
remove
temperature
sender
wire
from
terminal
board.
Move
electrical
box
out
of
the
way
to
complete
battery
ground
(-)
cable
removal.
On
Genesis
FFI™,
remove
wires
from
EMM
and
electrical
box.

.
Disconnect
battery
ground
(-)
cable
from
rear
of
engine
crankcase.
8
.
Loosen
clamp
and
remove
hose
from
water
outlet
manifold.
9
.
Remove
exhaust
pipe
and
exhaust
silencer.
10
.
Remove
exhaust
manifold.
11
.
Remove
cable
from
starter
motor.
12
.Genesis
models
-
Remove
coupler
shroud
from
bracket.
Carb.
models
-
Spin
coupler
back
until
it
clears
crankshaft.
Pump
and/or
drive
shaft
removal
is
not
necessary
for
engine
removal.
13.Remove
jet
pump
and
driveshaft
assembly.
Refer
to
Final
Drive-Jet
Pump-Bilge
section
for
procedure.
14
.
Disconnect
oil
supply
line
at
oil
pump
and
plug
the
line.
