5. Fuses and Breakers
Your boat will either have fuses or breakers protecng the DC electrical system. If you have to replace
a fuse or electrical breaker, replace only with a fuse or breaker of the same rang. The amperage will
be marked on the fuse or breaker, and it is recommended that you carry spare fuses or breakers.
If a fuse or breaker is replaced with one that has a lower amperage, it may not be sucient to carry
the electrical load of the equipment it is connected to and will cause nuisance failures. If a fuse or
Twin Engine Boat
On a twin engine installaon, there are two baery switches to control select items. One switch
provides power to both the port engine and generator, if applicable. The second baery switch
provides power to both the starboard engine and house electrical. To turn on power, rotate the
switch clockwise 90 degrees to the ON posion. If needed, there is a third baery switch that allows
power from both baery banks for emergency starng. To ulize, rotate the switch clockwise 90
degrees.
