5 INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
5.1 Why is regular maintenance important?
Heating systems require regular maintenance and service for the
following reasons:
− to maintain a high level of efciency and to operate the
system economically (low fuel consumption),
− to achieve a high level of operational reliability
− to maintain the cleanest possible combustion
The operator is required to have the entire heating system at least
once a year maintained, serviced and cleaned.
We recommend that an annual inspection and as-required ser-
vice contract is signed.
The servicing work carried out should be recorded.
Burner servicing should be carried out in accordance with the in-
structions of the burner manufacturer.

NOTICE:
− All cover plates, enclosures, and guards must be in place at
all times, except during maintenance and servicing.
Analyze the combustion ue gas before commencing any main-

The results of ue gas analysis can give a clear idea of what servic-
ing or repairs are needed.
