6.3.2 Basic configuration in STEP 7
Hardware configuration
You configure the hardware of the CP as usual in STEP 7 / HW Config. You will find the
CP 343-1 ERPC in the module catalog of HW Config in the following folder:
SIMATIC 300 → CP-300 → Industrial Ethernet → CP 343-1 ERPC → 6GK7 343-1FX00-0XE0
Insert the CP in the rack in slot no. 4 or higher.
Configuring the CP properties
The functions of the CP are configured in STEP 7 / HW Config in the properties dialog of the
CP.
You will find detailed information on the general configuration of the CP in /1/.
6.3.3 Configuration of the symbol table and the ERPC symbols
Creating and configuring the symbol table
Create a simple table in the blocks folder of the CPU of the relevant station in your STEP 7
project. There, you configure the data areas / variables you require for the logical trigger or
for other purposes as symbols.
You will find information on the symbol table in the STEP 7 online help and in /8/.
Configuring the ERPC symbols
Follow the steps outlined below to configure ERPC symbols:
1. Open the S7 station in HW Config.
2. Open the properties dialog by double-clicking on the CP.
3. Open the "ERPC Symbols" tab.
If you have not yet selected any symbols for ERPC, the table is empty. If you have
already selected symbols for ERPC, they will be displayed here.
