How to calibrate* the HI-SCAN X-ray unit
On all unit types with lateral cabinet and on dual view units*, if the
main monitor shows the baggage and freight items in the scanning
view from the side (F 2-33):
The lower side of the body faces the lateral cabinet (A). The lateral
cabinet is located either on the left or the right side of the tunnel. The
lower side of the body must correspondingly be in line with the left or
right edge of the conveyor belt.
Then activate menu item Calibrate with body 1 (step wedge).
After scanning the conveyor stops automatically. As calibration result, message Calibration successful is
output on the screen.

Attention!
If the calibration was not successful, an appropriate error message will be displayed (F 2-92). If
further calibration tests do not lead to success, the X-ACT system should be deactivated until the
X-ray unit has been repaired, because the X-ACT system may not work correctly and the objects
searched for are not detected automatically any more! 1780
Carry out complete calibration (fourfold calibration)
Set the conveyor to reverse run again by means of the first menu function Position conveyor. Stop the con-
veyor when the calibration body has reached its start position again (on units with newer software the
conveyor stops automatically).
Now carry out another 3 calibrations.
