Changing the keypress volume
Whenever you press a key, you will hear a beep to
indicate whether or not what you are trying to do is
allowed:
■ Allowed: a short, medium-pitched beep.
■ Not allowed: a long, low-pitched beep.
To change the volume of the keypress beeps between
high, low, and off:
1 Press Menu and select Radio settings > Alert
settings
> Keypress tones.
(Depending on how your radio is programmed, you
may be able to use a function key to switch the volume
of the keypress beeps between high, low, and off.)
2 Scroll to High, Low, or Off and press Select.
(The
current setting is highlighted.)
Turning off radio controls and keypress
tones
You can turn off all the tones and beeps you hear when
you press the keys or use the radio controls. This is
known as ‘quiet operation’. You will still hear incoming
call and warning tones.
To turn quiet operation on or off:
1 Press Menu and select Radio settings > Alert
settings
> Quiet operation.
(Depending on how your radio is programmed, you
may be able to press a function key to turn
backlighting on or off.)
