Operation
There
are
two
modes
available
for
this
unit.
Select
the
one
of
your
choice.
Surround-sound mode
The surround-sound system functions impart presence and spread
and thereby enhance and enrich the music.
There are four surround-sound modes available for this unit.
Select the one of your choice.
DOLBY (Dolby Pro-Logic):
Uses a circuit that was developed for sound and video recording
used in cinemas. This is the most appropriate mode for playback
of tracks encoded with Dolby surround.
HALL:
From classical to pop, to rock, this function imparts a deep bass
and spread which will make you feel as if you are in a large concert
hall.
Dolby 3 stereo mode
When playing back with this mode, the front signals become clear
and sharp, without any “sound hole” effects that 2-channel
teproduction may cause. If the speakers are placed on both sides of
the TV, regardless of the distance between the speakers or a piace
in which you watch and listen, the optimum stereo effects and
channel separation will be realized.
Positioning the speakers
In order to enjoy the maxirnum benefit of these functions, we
recommend you install rear speakers (not included) and a center
speaker (not included).
The center speaker only works with the Dolby Pro-Logic Surround.
CLUB:
Primarily for vocal pieces, this function adds gloss to the vocals
and you'll feel as though you were hearing a tive stage perfor-
mance.
STADIUM:
When listening to baseball or football relay broadcasts, this
function. automatically sets the appropriate bass level for the
announcer’s voice (mono) and audience cheers (stereo). It is
also effective for sources with the DJ's voice mixed in with the
music.
The illustration at the right Is an example when enjoying Dolby Pro-
Logic Surround-sound.
When enjoying Dolby 3 stereo sound, the rear speaker is not
necessary.
