Checktheair-cleanerbodyfordamagethatcould
causeanairleak.Replacetheair-cleanerbodyif
damaged.Checkthewholeintakesystemforleaks,
damage,orloosehoseclamps.
Note:Servicetheprimaryairlterwhenthe
lter-blockageindicator(Figure49)isred.Changing
theairlterfrequentlyincreasesthechanceofdirt
enteringtheenginewhenthelterisremoved.
Important:Besurethatthecoverisseated
correctlyandsealswiththeair-cleanerbody.
1.Beforeremovingtheair-ltercover,uselow
pressureair(40psi,cleananddry)tohelp
removelargeaccumulationsofdebrispacked
outsideoftheltercanister.
Note:Thiscleaningprocesspreventsdebris
frommigratingintotheintakewhenthelteris
removed.
Important:Avoidusinghigh-pressureair
whichcouldforcedirtthroughthelterinto
theintaketract.
