ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Themachinehasinterlockswitchesintheelectrical
system.Theseswitchesdisengageeitherthetraction
orthePTOwheneveryouleavetheseat.Although
theenginecontinuestorunifyoudisengagePTO
switch,andtheyoureleasethetractionpedal,shutoff
theenginebeforerisingfromtheseat.
Tochecktheoperationoftheinterlockswitches,
performthefollowingprocedure:
1.Drivethemachineslowlytoalarge,relatively
openarea.Lowerthemowerdeck,shutoffthe
engine,andapplytheparkingbrake.
2.Sitontheseatandpressthetractionpedal.Try
tostarttheengine.Theengineshouldnotstart.
Iftheenginestarts,thereisamalfunctioninthe
interlocksystemthatshouldbecorrectedbefore
beginningoperation.
3.Sitontheseatandstarttheengine.Risefrom
theseatandmovethePTOswitchtoON.The
PTOshouldnotengage.IfthePTOengages,
thereisamalfunctionintheinterlocksystemthat
shouldbecorrectedbeforebeginningoperation.
4.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrakeand
starttheengine.Movethetractionpedaloutof
theNEUTRALposition.TheInfoCentershould
display“tractionnotallowed”andthemachine
shouldnotmove.Iftheenginedoesmove,there
isamalfunctionintheinterlocksystemthat
shouldbecorrectedbeforebeginningoperation.

Whilesittingintheseat,adjusttherearviewmirrorto
attainthebestviewouttherearwindow(Figure36).
Pulltheleverrearwardtotiltthemirrortoreducethe
brightnessandglareoflight.
Side-ViewMirrors
Whilesittingintheseat,havesomeoneassistto
adjusttheside-viewmirrorstoattainthebestview
aroundthesideofthemachine(Figure36).

hairanddonotwearjewelry.
•Donotoperatethemachinewhileill,tired,or
undertheinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
•Nevercarrypassengersonthemachineandkeep
bystandersandpetsawayfromthemachine
duringoperation.
•Operatethemachineonlyingoodvisibilitytoavoid
holesorhiddenhazards.
•Avoidmowingonwetgrass.Reducedtraction
couldcausethemachinetoslide.
