Screen Washer
Examine the water level in the plastic windscreen washer
container. If required, unscrew the cap and replenish the con-
tainer with clean water. (Refer to page 30).
Tyres
The maintenance of correct tyre pressures is an important
factor governing tyre life, steering behaviour, braking, and riding
comfort. It is, therefore, important that tyre pressures are
checked regularly at periods not exceeding two weeks, and the
losses, due to diffusion, are made good. Correct tyre pressures
are given on page 25.
Adjust the pressures whilst the tyres are cold, i.e., before a
run. As the tyres warm up their pressures increase. A warm tyre
bled to the recommended pressure will be under-inflated when
cold.
MONTHLY CHECKS
Battery (Figs. 69 and 70)
Examine the level of the electrolyte in the cells and, if
necessary, add distilled water via the filler orifices to bring the
level up to the top of the separators
The use of a Lucas Battery Filler will aid topping-up. Ensure
that the battery filler is filled with distilled water and insert it into
