Sparking Plugs
Remove and discard the sparking plugs. When fitting re-
placements, ensure that they are of the correct type and that the
gaps are set to 0.025" (0.63 mm.). Re-connect the leads in the
order shown in Fig. 99.
Crankcase Breather Valve (Figs. 85 and 86)
Disengage the clip (6) from the valve body (1) and lift out the
diaphragm (4) and spring (2). Clean the components by swilling
them in methylated spirits (denatured alcohol). Ensure that the
breather pipe is clean and serviceable. Reverse the dismantling
sequence to re-assemble.
NOTE. When the breather valve is cleaned, remove the oil filler
cap and check that the breather hole is unobstructed and that
the joint washer is serviceable.
Generator Rear Bearing (Fig. 87)
Inject a few drops of medium viscosity oil through the hole
in the rear bearing housing.
