b) Manual programme selection
In manual programme mode, different rechargeable battery
cellcareprogrammescanbecongured.
You can select the following programmes:
Programme Meaning
Charge The rechargeable battery is charged once.
Discharge Therechargeablebatteryisdischargedoncetothenaldischargevoltage.
Storage The lithium rechargeable battery is prepared for long-term storage. This menu item
is only active when lithium rechargeable batteries are used. For storage of lithium
rechargeablebatteries,itisimportanttosetaspeciccellvoltage.Ifacellvoltageis
too high, it will be reduced; if it is too low, it will be increased.
Cycle The rechargeable battery is discharged and charged multiple times. This reduces a
possible memory effect. You can set 1 – 66 cycles. Preset value: 3 cycles.
Activation Recovery programme for a deeply discharged rechargeable battery. The recharge-
able battery is discharged and charged with a reduced current up to three times.
Occasionally, a NiCd or NiMH rechargeable battery may be deeply discharged. It
can not be recharged under normal conditions, especially at an extremely low cell
voltage. Activation uses a low current to perform an activation cycle that charges and
discharges the rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery may be reactivated
during this process under some circumstances. Activation can take 2 – 3 cycles. If
an extremely deeply discharged rechargeable battery cannot be activated, stop the
procedure and dispose of the rechargeable battery.
Analysis The analysis allows checking rechargeable batteries that have been stored for longer
periods. It also enables determination of the current capacity. The rechargeable bat-
tery is discharged and charged once.
To enter manual mode, press and hold down an arrow button for approx. 3 seconds after inserting the
rechargeable battery. The automatic countdown will be interrupted for approx. 10 seconds. Now set the
desired manual programmes and parameters for your rechargeable battery.
