Starting the engine
Start the engine
Start using the ignition switch
Turn the key to position "II". Release the key and let
the key spring back to position "I" as soon as the en-
gine has started. Stop cranking if the engine does not
start with in 20 sek.
All the warning lamps will light up right after the engine
has started, check that all of them goes out again.
Starting with the starter button
Press the starter button. Release the button as soon
as the engine has started. Please note that if you start
from an alternative control station, the starter key at
the main control station must be in position I. Stop
cranking if the engine does not start with in 20 sek.
Read the instruments and warm the
engine up
Allow the engine to idle for the first ten seconds, and
check that instruments and warning displays show
normal values. Check that no warning lamps flash on
the alarm display.
Then warm the engine up at low speed and low load,
so that it reaches normal operating temperature be-
fore full power is used.
IMPORTANT! Never race the engine when it is cold.
