7.10 Removing Connecting Rod and Piston

7.10.1 Remove connecting rod bolts (a) and connecting rod cap (b).
7.10.2 Turn crankshaft until piston (c) comes to top dead center, push out
connecting rod (d) and piston assembly through top of cylinder.
Note: Scrape off all carbon deposits that might interfere with removal
of piston from upper end of cylinder.
7.10.3 Remove the clips (e) and the piston pin (f) to remove connecting rod
from piston.
7.10.4 Being careful not to damage the rings or piston, remove the rings (g)
from the piston by spreading them at the gap and pulling them from the
piston.
