English INTRODUCTION
1. Introduction
1.1. About this document
The language of the original operating manual is
German. All other languages of these instructions
are translations of the original operating instruc-
tions.
This manual is divided into individual sections,
which are listed in the table of contents. Each
section has a heading which clearly describes its
content.
A copy of the EC declaration of conformity is a
component of these operating instructions.
Ifatechnicalmodicationismadeonthedesigns
named there without our agreement, this decla-
ration loses its validity.
1.2. Personnel qualications
All personnel who work on or with the switchgear
mustbequaliedforsuchwork;electricalwork,
forexample,mayonlybecarriedoutbyaqualied
electrician. All personnel must be of legal age.
Operating and maintenance personnel must also
observe national accident prevention regulations.
It must be ensured that personnel has read and
understood the instructions in this operation and
maintenance manual; if necessary, this manual
must be ordered from the manufacturer in the
required language.
This switchgear is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, senso-
ryormentalcapabilities,orlackofexperienceand
knowledge, unless they have been given supervi-
sion or instruction concerning use of the switch-
gear by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the switchgear.

This operation and maintenance manual has been
copyrighted by the manufacturer. The operation
and maintenance manual is intended for use by
installation, operating and maintenance person-
nel. It contains regulations and drawings which
may not be reproduced or distributed, either
completely or in part, or used for any competitive
purposewithouttheexpressedconsentofthe
manufacturer. Illustrations may differ from the
originalandserveonlyasexampleillustrationsof
switchgears.
1.5. Rights of modication
The manufacturer reserves the right to make
technicalmodicationstosystemsorcompo-
nents. This operation and maintenance manual
refers to the switchgear indicated on the title
page.
1.6. Warranty
This section contains the general information on
the warranty. Contractual agreements have the
highest priority and are not superseded by the
information in this section.
The manufacturer is obliged to correct any
defects found in the switchgears it sells, provid-
ed that the following requirements have been
fullled:
1.6.1. General
• The defects are caused by the materials used
or the way the product was manufactured or
designed.
• The defects were reported in writing to the man-
ufacturer within the agreed warranty period.
• The switchgear was used only as intended.
1.6.2. Warranty period
If no other provisions have been made, the war-
rantyperiodappliestotherst24monthsafter
commissioningortoamax.periodof30months
after the delivery date. Other agreements must be
madeinwritingintheorderconrmation.These
remain valid at least until the agreed warranty
periodoftheswitchgearhasexpired.
1.6.3. Spare parts, attachments and modications
Only genuine spare parts from the manufacturer
may be used for repairs, replacements, attach-
mentsandmodications.Unauthorizedadd-ons
andmodicationsortheuseofnon-originalspare
parts can seriously damage the switchgear and/or
injure personnel.
1.6.4. Maintenance
The prescribed maintenance and inspection
work should be carried out regularly. This work
mayonlybecarriedoutbyqualied,trainedand
authorized personnel.
1.6.5. Damage to the product
Damage and faults that endanger safety must
be eliminated immediately by trained personnel.
The switchgear may only be operated if it is in
proper working order. During the agreed warranty
period, the switchgear may only be repaired by
the manufacturer or an authorized service center.
The manufacturer reserves the right to ask the
operator to return the damaged switchgear to the
factory for inspection.
1.6.6. Exclusion from liability
No liability will be assumed for damage to the
switchgear if any of the following items apply:
