CRUISING IN SHALLOW
WATER
Power tilt model
The engine can be tilted up partially to allow
operation in shallow water.
WARNING
@
Place the gear shift in the Neutral posi-
tion before setting for shallow water
cruising.
Return the engine to its normal posi-
tion as soon as the boat is back in
deeper water.

CAUTION:
@
Do not tilt up the outboard motor so that
the cooling water inlet of the lower unit is
above the surface of the water when set-
ting for and cruising in shallow water.
Otherwise severe damage from overheat-
ing can result.

PROCEDURE
1) Place the gear shift lever in the neutral
position.
