Internal and External Batteries
The Clearway 2 will monitor the State of Charge (SoC) of internal and external
batteries when fitted and State of Health (SoH) of the internal battery.
A message on the screen will warn a user when a battery requires charging.
A message on the screen will warn a user when the internal battery has a poor
state of health and must be replaced.
Charging of the internal battery is automatic when the AC mains supply is
connected. If AC mains is connected, it is used as the main power source and
the internal battery (if fitted) will be charged as required. If AC mains is not
connected and the batteries are the main power source, the external battery (if
used) will be discharged first followed by the internal battery (if fitted).
If the batteries are to be stored it is recommended that they be stored at
between 15% and 50% charged and at a temperature between +5
0
C and +20
0
C
and no more than +40
0
C. Fully charge the battery with the Clearway 2 before
use. A battery that is not used will slowly discharge; this rate of discharge will
increase when stored at higher temperatures.
Users can expect a runtime of >30 minutes continuous treatment use from a
fully charged internal battery. An internal battery takes around 2.5 hours to
fully charge.
Clock Battery
The Clearway 2 uses a 3V Lithium coin cell to supply power to the internal
clock. We recommend this battery is replaced every 5 years. The specified
part in this manual must be used.
Alarm Battery
The Clearway 2 has a PCB mounted 3.6V NiMH rechargeable battery used to
provide power to the alarm microprocessor and sounder in the event of a total
power fail. We recommend that this battery is replaced every 5 years. The
specified part in this manual must be used.
