Quick Start Basics
You can select one of two auto recording modes (Program Auto or Premium Auto
Pro) according to your digital imaging needs.
1. Press [ON/OFF] (Power) to turn on the camera.
The camera will enter the REC mode.
• If the camera is in the PLAY mode, press [r] (REC) or the shutter button.
2. Align the mode dial with [P] (Program Auto) or [Ÿ] (Premium Auto
Pro) to select Auto recording mode.

Auto
This is the standard Auto recording mode.
Premium
Auto Pro
With Premium Auto Pro recording, the camera
automatically determines whether you are shooting a
subject or scenery, and other conditions. Premium
Auto Pro recording delivers higher image quality than
Program Auto recording.
• It also requires more power (and runs down the
battery quicker) than Program Auto.
