Removing the Coin-Cell Battery
1. Follow the instructions in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
2. Remove the hinge cover. See Removing the Hinge Cover.
3. Remove the keyboard. See Removing the Keyboard.
4. Locate the coin-cell battery and disconnect the cable from the system board connector by pulling toward the coin-cell battery.
5. Remove the cable from the guides and lift the coin-cell battery from the computer.
Replacing the Coin-Cell Battery
1. Connect the cable to the system board by pushing it into the connector.
2. Route the cable through the channel and press the coin-cell battery into place.

your computer's electronic components. You can do so by touching an unpainted metal surface.
