Description
2.3 Reading bar code
The following steps are required to activate the bar code reader:
2.3.1 Starting the laser activation
1. From the menu, select "START LASER ACTIVATION".
 An alert icon is displayed in addition to the display text.
2. Press the "OK" key.
 The countdown timer (5 seconds) is started, and the time
remaining until the laser is activated is displayed.
2.3.2 Reading bar code
Once the countdown timer has counted down, the laser is switched on
and the bar code can be scanned. The LED windows are constantly
illuminated in red. Do not look into the bar code reader during this time.
1. Then position the tube box on the ribs between the keys and slide
the entire bar code with a straight movement over the bar code
reader of the instrument.
 Then, the bar code information is transferred to the instrument
and indicated on the display.
2.3.3 Automatic shut-down of the laser
The laser is shut down automatically, the red LED windows are off:
1 if a valid bar code was scanned,
2 if no valid bar code was scanned within 30 seconds.
If more than 30 seconds have passed, the bar code reader can be
activated again by pressing the "OK" key.
