3.2.3 UPS System Interface Wiring Preparation
Control wiring for features and options should be connected at the customer interface terminal blocks located
on top front of the UPS, behind the door.

Donotdirectlyconnectrelaycontactstothemainsrelatedcircuits.Reinforcedinsulationtothemainsisrequired.
Read and understand the following notes while planning and performing the installation:
• Allinterfacewiringistobeprovidedbythecustomer.
• WheninstallinginternalinterfacewiringtoMini-slotterminals,routethewiringthroughtheinternal
opening in the Mini-slot communication bay.
• Allsignalinputsorremotefeaturesrequireanisolatednormally-opencontactorswitch(ratedat24
VDC, 20 mA minimum) connected between the alarm input and common terminal. All control wiring
and relay and switch contacts are customer-supplied. Use twisted-pair wires for each alarm input and
common.
• Thesignalinputscanbeprogrammedtodisplaythealarmfunctionalname.
• LANandtelephonedropsforusewithMini-slotcardsmustbeprovidedbyfacilityplannersorthe
customer.
• TheUPSBatteryAuxand24VDCShuntTripsignalwiringfromtheUPStotheDCsourcedisconnect
device is optional.
• BatteryAuxand24VDCShuntTripwiringshouldbeaminimumof1.5mm².
• TheRemoteEPOfeatureopensallswitchgearintheUPScabinetandisolatespowerfromyourcriti-
cal load. Local electrical codes may also require tripping upstream protective devices to the UPS.
• TheRemoteEPOswitchmustbeadedicatedswitchnottiedtoanyothercircuits.
• Ajumperwiremustbeconnectedbetweenpins1and2onconnectorEPO,ifthenormallyclosed
(NC) remote EPO contact is used.
• RemoteEPOwiringshouldbeaminimumof0.75mm²andamaximumof2.5mm².
• ThemaximumdistancebetweentheRemoteEPOandtheUPScannotexceed150meters.
• Alarmrelaycontactshaveamaximumcurrentratingof5Aandaswitchedvoltageratingof30VAC
(RMS) and 30 VDC.
• Alarmrelaywiringshouldbeaminimumof0.75mm².
