7.6 FM-8500
Refer to the Installation Manual, FM-8500
7.6.1 General
This setup must be performed on both FM-8500’s.
1) Power up the unit.
2) Press the [1] (Position) key. The Longitude/Latitude and UTC time should
be displayed. This NMEA information is supplied by the Felcom 15. If it is
not displayed check the NMEA cables and connections.
(Refer to Pg. S-6, the Felcom 15, IC-315 Junction Box Connections)
7.6.2 MMSI Setting
1) Press the [SELECT] key, the Setup menu appears.
2) Press the [9] key, the System menu appears.
3) Using the arrow keys, select ID and press the [ENT] key.
4) Enter the vessel’s MMSI number and the [ENT] key to accept.
7.6.3 DSC Settings
1) Using the arrow keys, select DSC and press the [ENT] key.
2) Press the [1] key to select CH70, then press the [ENT] key.
When setting up VHF 2, select VHF instead of CH70.
