E. Burnpot Maintenance
Whencleaningtheburnpotusethesuppliedallenwrench
toremoveanybuild-upthatmayhaveaccumulatedinthe
holesoftheburnpotgrate.Makesurealltheholesareopen
andfreefromencrustedcarbonaroundtheedges.
Aspecialeffortshouldbemadetocleanthebottominside
corners ofthe burnpot where the augertube enters the
burnpot.Carbondepositscanbuildupovertimeinthisarea
thatcould cause a restriction tothe ow ofpellets and/or
causethepelletstopushontotheburngrateareaunevenly.
Thethreeverticalcutsintheburnpotsurface(Figure5.4)
aretheretorelieveexpansionstressdotothehighheatthe
materialsees.Someunevennessmayoccurinthisarea.As
longastheholesarekeptcleanandclearofanyblockage
thiswillnoteffecttheoperationoftheunit.
Removing the swing out burnpot:
• Makesuretheunitiscooleddownorcold.
• Removeashpan.
• Swingthelatchhandleupuntilyoufeelitcontactthetop
oftheswingplate.Thenpushupwarduntilyouseethe
burnpotswingout.Figure5.5.
• Lifttheburnpotupoffoftheswingplateintheunit.
• Removetheameguide.
• Emptyanynesthatmayhavebuiltupundertheburn
potgrate.Todothisloosenthe2thumbscrewslocated
onthefrontoftheburnpotandremovethecover.The
airchamber canbecleaned of anyashthat hasfallen
throughtheholesduringoperationandcleaning.Figure

Before replacing the swing out burnpot:
1. Inspecttheredsiliconegasketonthebackoftheburnpot
tomakesurethereisnodamageorcarbonaroundthe
edgesthatmaycauseapoorseal.Figure5.7.
2. Inspectthesealingsurfaceontheswingplateinsidethe
unit.Thesurfaceneedstobecleanandsmooth.
3. Do not forget to reinstall the ame guide or the
cleanout cover.
4. Make sure the burnpot is fully seated with the latch
handledownasfarasitcango.
