REGULAR INSPECTION AND
MAINTENANCE FOR HOT-WATER TANK
Set water hardness (Th) to a value in the range 15 – 20°F.

O Check for water leaks from pipe joints
O Electrical insulation check
O Check the insulator for piping
O Check pressure-relief valve for water leaks
O Check the electric heater
O Check the pressure reducing valves and auto purge valve for water works
O Discharge scale sediment from the heat exchanger and bottom of the tank
Replacement of parts
Packings, pressure reducing valves for water works, pressure-relief valves and auto purge valves wear out
quickly. The quality of the water used may make it necessary to often replace them. Replace all parts that
inspection results indicate should be replaced.
Speci cations for pressure reducing valves for water works and pressure-relief valves
The tank has to be mounted with a pressure-relief, diameter 3/4" following standard NF36,40.
(But this may be suitable for France only)
The pressure relief must be operated regularly in order to remove the scale deposit and to check if it is not
blocked.
In a region where snow falls
O When the unit is used in a region where snow falls, you will have to take the necessary
measures to prevent the air inlets or outlets from becoming blocked by snow as heating
capacity will otherwise drop and the unit may eventually break down.
