Measure the clearances with a feeler gauge.

CONNECTING ROD BIG END OIL CLEARANCE
Wipe oil
off
the crank pin and connecting rod bearing mat-
ing surface.
Place the plastigauge on the crank pin.
Set the connecting rod and cap, and tighten the connecting
rod bolts to the specified torque.
TORQUE
NOTE:
Place the plastigauge axially.
Tighten the two bolts equally while holding the crank-
shaft to keep
it
from turning.
Remove the connecting rod cap and measure the plastigauge
with the scale.
Standard Service limit
If
the clearance exceeds the service limit, replace the con-
necting rod and recheck the clearance.
