10. CRANKSHAFT RUNOUT CHECK
See P. 2-14 if the engine is still installed on the mower deck.
When checking the crankshaft runout, do not allow the dial
indicator tip to drop into the keyway.
Use the bolt to rotate the crankshaft in the same direction the
crankshaft spins during normal operation.
Record the runout.
If the crankshaft runout exceeds the service limit, replace the
crankshaft.
11. CAMSHAFT/CYLINDER/PISTON/
VALVE INSPECTION
CAM LOBE HEIGHT
Measure the cam lobe height.
If the measurement is less than the service limit, replace the
camshaft.
CAMSHAFT BORE I.D.
Measure the camshaft bore I.D.
If the measurement is more than the service limit, replace the
camshaft.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.20 mm (0.008 in)
INTAKE
STANDARD: 33.779 – 34.179 mm (1.3299 – 1.3456 in)
SERVICE LIMIT: 33.754 mm (1.3289 in)
EXHAUST
STANDARD: 34.358 – 34.558 mm (1.3527 – 1.3605 in)
SERVICE LIMIT: 34.333 mm (1.3517 in)
STANDARD: 10.090 – 10.120 mm (0.3972 – 0.3984 in)
SERVICE LIMIT: 10.140 mm (0.3992 in)
