When the ignition switch is turned ON and
the engine stop switch is at ‘‘ ’’ (RUN),
the immobilizer system (HISS) indicator
lights for a few seconds, then goes off. If
the indicator remains on, it means the
system does not recognize the coding of the
key. Turn the ignition switch to OFF,
remove the key, reinsert and turn the
switch ON again.
HISS is the abbreviation of Honda Ignition
Security System.
The immobilizer system (HISS) protects
your motorcycle from theft. A properly-
coded key must be used in the ignition
switch for the engine to start. If an
improperly-coded key (or other device) is
used the engine’s starting circuit is disabled.
