Tables 6 and 7 show examples of the maximum number of PoE or PoE+ ports that can be supported by the
Switch 8212zl and 5412zl. Table 6 shows the maximum number of PoE ports at full power (Class 0—15.4
watts), and the next section shows the maximum number of PoE ports at phone power (8 watts) for each
configuration. Table 7 shows the maximum number of PoE+ ports at full power (Class 4—30 watts), and
the next section shows the maximum number of PoE ports at full power (Class 0—15.4 watts) for each
configuration. These categories are further subdivided based on whether the internal power supplies (1 of 2 or
2 of 4) are to provide power redundancy in the event a power supply fails.
NOTE: Four 875 W internal power supplies cannot supply sufficient PoE power to a Switch 8212zl and 5412zl
fully populated with 24-port line interface modules (288 ports). Four 1500 W power supplies can be used to
supply full PoE power (15.4 watts) to 233 ports.
