7 Managing Consistency Groups
About This Chapter
After a consistency group is created, you can manage it to meet service adjustment, data
security, disaster recovery, and data test requirements.
7.1 Viewing Consistency Group Information
This operation enables you to view information about existing consistency groups, including
basic information and remote replication pair information, so that you can effectively monitor
the status of consistency groups.
7.2 Changing the Properties of a Consistency Group
This operation enables you to change the name, description, recovery policy and rate of a
consistency group.
7.3 Synchronizing a Consistency Group
This operation enables all remote replication pairs contained in a consistency group to initiate
data synchronization simultaneously so that data is synchronized from all primary LUNs to all
secondary LUNs at the same point in time, ensuring data validity.
7.4 Splitting a Consistency Group
This operation enables you to split all remote replication pairs in a consistency group
simultaneously so that a full data copy is generated for each secondary LUN in each pair,
facilitating report generation, test, data mining, decision making, and data recovery.
7.5 Performing Primary/Secondary Switchover of a Consistency Group
This operation enables you to switch between the primary LUNs and the secondary LUNs in a
consistency group. When the primary LUNs in a consistency group fail, you can initiate a
primary/secondary switchover to enable the secondary LUNs to become the new primary
LUNs, taking over services from the original primary LUNs to ensure service continuity.
7.6 Enabling Protection For Secondary Resource Of Consistency Groups
This operation enables protection for secondary resource of all remote replication pairs in
consistency group, and the data of secondary resource cannot be written to ensure the security
of the data from the secondary resource.
7.7 Disabling Protection For Secondary Resource Of Consistency Groups
This operation disables protection for secondary resource of all remote replication in
consistency group, and the data of secondary resource can be written again.
