A Using the External Storage System to
Perform Initial Synchronization for a Remote
Replication
You can perform initial synchronization for a remote replication using the external storage
system.

guidance of Huawei technical engineers. If you want to use this method to perform initial
synchronization, contact Huawei technical support engineers for help.
A.1 Introduction
After a remote replication is established between the production center and the DR center,
initial synchronization is automatically started to replicate data from the production center to
the DR center.
A.2 Configuration Operation (Using the LUN Copy Feature of the External Storage System)
You can create a LUN copy on the external storage system to implement initial
synchronization for a remote replication.
A.3 Configuration Operation (Using the LUN Copy Feature of the Production and DR
Centers)
You can create a LUN copy on the storage system of the production center and DR center to
implement initial synchronization for a remote replication.
A.1 Introduction
After a remote replication is established between the production center and the DR center,
initial synchronization is automatically started to replicate data from the production center to
the DR center.
In actual application scenarios, the amount of data in the production center is large (up to a
terabyte level), but the data transmission bandwidth is limited between the DR center and the
