Setting the feed dog movement
in relation to the needle (after-feed).
Preliminary setting
Loosen the stop screw (7/8) on the feeding
eccentric (7/9) and turn the eccentric until the
stop screw is horizontal. Hold the eccentric in
place. Turn the handwheel until the take-up
level is at the upper position. Tighten the
eccentric.
Fine adjustment
Check the after-feed at straight stitching, stitch
length 6.0 mm, by drawing a line in the needle
hole when the thread take-up lever is at the
upper position. Then turn the handwheel until
the needle tip is at the same level as the stitch
plate. Draw a fresh line in the needle hole of the
foot sole. The distance between these lines
should be 0.3 mm-0.6 mm. Note that the
handwheel might only be turned in one direction.
Otherwise, play can cause faulty setting.
