Attach the work clamp to the workpiece
The work clamp must be connected to the workpiece while you are cutting. If you are using the Powermax65 or
Powermax85 with a cutting table, you can connect the work lead directly to the table instead of attaching the work
clamp to the workpiece. See your table manufacturer’s instructions.
Note the following:
• Ensure that the work clamp and the workpiece make good metal-to-metal contact. Remove rust, dirt, paint,
coatings, and other debris to ensure the power supply makes proper contact with the workpiece.
• For the best cut quality, attach the work clamp as close as possible to the area being cut.
• Do not attach the work clamp to the portion of the workpiece to be cut away.
