Listen for a transmission and adjust the volume to a com-
fortable listening level.
• The activity LED lights green when receiving a signal.
• When no transmission is heard, push and hold [P]([MON]) to ad·
just the volume.
The transceiver is now set to receive calls on the selected
channel.
Transmitting:
Wait for the channel to become clear, then:
® Push a programmed switch (e.g. to transmit a tone, etc.)
if
instructed to do so by your system operator.

@ While pushing and holding [PTT], speak into the micro-
phone at a normal voice level.
• The activity LED lights red while transmitting.
• Do
not
hold the transceiver too close to your mouth or speak too
loudly. This may distort the signal.
@ Release [PTT] to receive.
