4. Insert the BIOS Recovery floppy diskette into the disk drive.
5. Replace the AC power cord and turn on the system power.
The system will beep once as the recovery process starts and the system passes control to DOS.
DOS executes a special AUTOEXEC.BAT file that contains iFLASH on the first line. If iFLASH
determines that the system is in recovery mode, as indicated by the jumper location, iFLASH will
start the recovery. No user intervention is needed.
The BIOS recovery will take between two and four minutes. The screen will remain blank while
the recovery is performed. At the end of the BIOS Recovery, two high-pitched beeps will sound
and the floppy drive access light will turn off. The BIOS Recovery may take several minutes to
complete. When the BIOS Recovery is complete, it is safe to power off the system.
When the flash update completes:
1. Turn off the system power and remove the AC power.
2. Remove the recovery diskette.
3. Restore the BIOS recovery jumper to its original position, covering pins 9 and 10.
4. Close the server chassis.
5. Replace the AC power and turn on the system power.
6. Re-flash any custom blocks, such as user binary or language blocks.
